FAQs
Our Story
-
Silco originates in St Ives, Cornwall. It is a family-run drinks company specialising in plant-based liqueurs made using local Cornish ingredients.
The concept of Silco is that our drinks capture the true energy of St Ives: the chaos and the calm; the vibrant Summers and bone-cold Winters; a still harbour and a wild Atlantic; all-night parties and peaceful walks.
-
Silco was founded by three brothers; Tim, Greg and Bertie. They had finished working at the family restaurant, The Searoom, and were talking about a new kind of drinks brand. They played around with flavours and mixes and found something that hit the spot.
Our Products
-
Our Cornish Gin is made from a blend of 13 botanicals, all gathered from the Cornish coastline.
-
You can buy all our Silco liqueurs directly from our website, or why not pop into our Bar & Kitchen for a tipple before you buy?
-
Yes! All our cocktails, gins and liqueurs are vegan, dairy free and Gluten free. Our products are 100% plant-based and free of additives and preservatives.
-
Our Original St Ives Gin is best served with a premium Indian tonic water, a slice of Grapefruit and a pinch of Basil. Our Orange Gin is ideal with tonic and a Bay Leaf, and our Berry Gin is perfect with tonic and Lime Leaf.
-
Limoncello is traditionally made from the zest of Sorrento or Sfusato lemons. Because our Limoncello is handmade in St Ives and made using Cornish ingredients, we use Eureka and Meyer lemons that are local to the area.
They have the perfect blend of bitter and sweet needed to give our Limoncello that signature punch.
-
Limoncello originates from Italy and is mainly produced in southern Italy, particularly around the Amalfi Coast and Sicily.
Our Cornish Limoncello might not be made in Italy, but we like to think it captures the yellow sunshine of the Italian coast that is not too dissimilar to the St Ives coastline at the height of Summer.
-
Limoncello is a digestif so it is meant to be sipped slowly.
If we were traditionalists, we’d tell you to sip it. But we’re not. So we want you to drink our Limoncello however you like; whether that’s sipping it slowly after a long, leisurely lunch or taking it as a shot for a zesty pick-me-up.
